Folklore: The Trials of Robin Hood [Nottingham, UK]

£20 – £45Based on press information supplied by Chronic Insanity.
8–31 January 2027 | Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only | National Justice Museum, Nottingham, UK
Robin Hood is on trial, and the audience decides whether he will be remembered as a man or a myth. Following Apple of Discord, Nottingham company Chronic Insanity returns with an immersive production that takes over all five floors of the National Justice Museum.

The story
The Major Oak has died, leaving Robin Hood’s spirit caught in a custody battle. Seven factions have emerged to fight over his legacy. Join a faction, interview witnesses, gather evidence, make alliances or blackmail your enemies as you try to influence the outcome of three trials in the museum’s Victorian Civil Courtroom.
There is no fixed route through the experience. You can follow the central case or explore a different set of stories in the Small Claims Court, where vikings, witches and other colourful characters have disputes of their own.
Your experience
The production brings together around 60 performers and creatives, with room for up to 300 audience members each night. Explore the historic building, including areas not normally open to the public, and choose how deeply you want to take part. The audience shapes each performance from beginning to end, so no two nights will be the same. You can also save your achievements and return on another night to pursue a different outcome.
